Up until writing this, I never gave him any further indication it was me who caused this.

If my enemies are ever wondering if I was behind something, I encourage them to consult this diagram.

You were also right about the, “Jay, you’re censoring a core with meditation” and “you wrote off AI as a cause area to be safe from pwnage-by-LW and need to evaluate it on its own merits”, things.

As for chronicling fleet history, there was also the time where I tried to guilt you into buying my boat on the likely-false-but-I-didn’t-even-check assumption you’d damaged it, and you actually offered to, as a way of having a social pretense to get rid of me, and then I got some sort of honor false face and was like “nahh you don’t have to”. And then I sent an aggressive email to Gwen telling them I wanted to pay them as little as I could be socially seen to owe them for unpaid rent for living in their boat, since there was grey area on how much I owed.

Note also: our aim (whether or not we thought success probable) was to make something much larger than “the boat” that we got. To appeal to the entire rationality community. Jay was saying you were banned from that, preemptively, before we had “the boat” we got for the project.

They tried to coopt an organization that was about archipelago norms, for banning people on the basis of their politics, politics which I broadly disagree with. That’s a wholly correct cause for conflict. (And only a small part of why there was conflict.) So don’t consider it unfortunate.

Including unilaterally deciding our policy was to ban Zack without consulting me and Gwen

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, it seems unfortunate that this ended up being a source of conflict, because I never had any reason to visit the boat anyway.
